What is furniture carpentry called?

Carpentry is the skill of making wooden items and includes making cabinets (cabinets and furniture), wood carving, joinery, carpentry, and wood turning. Carpentry is defined as the craft of cutting and joining wood to construct buildings or other structures. Furniture designers are responsible for designing and creating different types of furniture based on a basic concept or idea. Carpenters traditionally worked with natural wood and did more rugged work, such as framing, but today many other materials are also used, and sometimes the more refined crafts of cabinetmaking and furniture construction are considered carpentry.
