To achieve impeccable and meticulous results, we employ the best European craftsmen: cabinetmakers, machinists and metal welders, carvers, upholsterers and artists. They respect integrity and know the importance of maintaining the original design when repairing your furniture or architectural carpentry. We will not insert a dowel into a mortise and tenon joint that compromises the function of the shank by a cheap “glue job” that some would call “repair”. We will not inject glue into the joints of a chair with loose studs (a “solution” for 3 to 9 months), when it is necessary to simply completely disassemble, cut and pierce the old studs and reinstall newer and larger studs to obtain the original longevity of the chair's carpentry.
Over the past 30 years, Tarrytown Woodworks has restored literally thousands of pieces of furniture and carvings, from medieval to mid-century modern furniture, from simple works of folk art to works by renowned furniture designers.
